At Hitherfield we have mapped the requirements of the National Curriculum for History across a progression framework then sequenced these objectives into year groups to ensure pupils secure an age-appropriate development of knowledge and skills. Medium term plans for each sequence of work map out the skills, knowledge, vocabulary and links to prior learning which will be taught.
An understanding of British, local and world history is built up throughout the curriculum, as well as an understanding of the disciplinary knowledge of how Historians investigated the past.
